It’s Not Enough to Speak, But to Speak True: Revisiting the Whistleblower Protection Law in Malaysia

This research analyses the gaps and weaknesses in existing legislative framework for whistleblower protection Malaysia. The study found two main issues Malaysian Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 dealing with disclosure of wrongdoings. They are limited channel an act information is offence under other legislation. whistleblowers becomes vulnerable current restraints. Whistleblowing has significantly become one critical requirements society as a medium to curb corruption. By analysing this Act, contributes body knowledge plays role proposing policymakers advocating some enhancement future sake whistleblower’s safety. adopts doctrinal qualitative methodology. A content analysis through analytical legal approach employed by examining law. brief reference conducted on United Kingdom Public Interest Disclosure Employment 1996. Thus, salient improvements law provisions recommended better regulate laws findings demonstrate need practical strength amendments protect due unpredictable consequences.
